Atlas Concrete Ltd has an excellent opportunity for a reliable time served Mechanical Engineer to join our extremely busy Maintenance team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for repairing and maintaining equipment in our precast concrete flooring factories.
You will also support the Maintenance team across all other areas of our business as required.
• Full time permanent position is available for the right candidate;
• 47.5hrs per week with opportunities for weekend and call out work as required.
Pay will be negotiable depending on skills and experience.
Atlas Concrete Ltd are one of the leading experts in all types of pre-stressed and pre-cast concrete products, supplying both the agricultural and construction industries.
We currently have a vacancy in our Silloth Panels team for a reliable and hardworking candidate.
▪ New rate of £14.42 per hour with overtime rate after 45 hours!
▪ Progression opportunities for candidates with the right attitude.
Duties include:
▪ Working as part of a team to meet daily production targets;
▪ Thoroughly cleaning beds in preparation for the next pour;
▪ Setting up beds accurately to ensure high quality products to customer specifications;
▪ Cleaning aisles and ends of concrete beds to ensure a safe working environment;
▪ Using and maintaining machinery and tools in accordance with training and safe operating procedures to ensure highest standards of safety are maintained at all times;
▪ Being responsible for your own health and safety and that of others at all times.
Requirements:
▪ This is a physically demanding position, therefore candidates should be physically fit;
▪ Strong focus on delivering quality products safely;
▪ A commitment to working as a team to meet daily production targets;
▪ Must have confirmation of reliable transport to our Silloth site;
▪ Must be reactive to feedback and receptive to change;
▪ Forklift experience is advantageous although in house training and certification will be arranged.
Successful candidates will be subject to a three month trial period to assess performance and reliability.

Steel Fixer – 1 Position (Workington)

Duties include:

  • Hand tying rebar steel cages to reinforce concrete moulds
  • Producing reinforcement for precast concrete products
  • Reading and working from technical drawings

Production Operative (Woodworking Skills Required) – 1 Position (Workington)

Duties include:

  • Operating CNC cutting machinery
  • Setting up staircase for precast concrete production
  • Assisting with the manufacture of precast concrete products

Production Workers – 3 Positions (Workington)

Duties include:

  • Cleaning and preparing moulds
  • Assisting in the production of precast concrete products
  • General factory and production duties as required
