Atlas Concrete Limited have three qualified AP/Contracts Managers working for them covering the full UK.

An appointed person is often used in lifting operations. They are the individual who is responsible for the execution of lifting materials, as well as ensuring health and safety is maintained.

Although other workers can be delegated the duty of overseeing any lifting operations, the responsibility will remain solely with the appointed person.

Those who fill the role of an appointed person lifting operations must take responsibility for the safety of the lifting operation. The duties associated with the role include:

◾ Planning the lifting operation
◾ Approving all risk assessments
◾ Providing instructions to other employees, where necessary
◾ Supervising all aspects of the lifting operation, where possible
◾ Consulting with relevant authorities
◾ Ensuring that the work is carried out as safely as possible
